What are some things to know about Golang?

  • It’s designed for simplicity, with a minimal syntax that’s easy to learn and use.
  • It’s highly efficient, offering fast performance and low resource consumption, making it ideal for scalable systems.
  • It’s great for concurrency, with built-in support for lightweight threads called goroutines.

Why learn Golang?

Learning Golang offers efficient and high-performance programming for modern challenges like concurrency and scalability. Its simple syntax makes it great for both beginners and experienced developers.

Golang’s support for concurrency with goroutines is perfect for building scalable web services. As cloud-native apps grow, Go is in high demand for backend development.

Backed by Google, Golang has strong community support and is used in large-scale projects. Mastering Go can boost your prospects in systems programming and cloud infrastructure.

Noa Monthly Report

Employee Spotlight – Lucy

All of us at Noa had a great November but Lucy did exceptionally well, getting lots of interviews and a placement this month!

While some roles had been harder to resource candidates for than others, Lucy was able to ensure that both the clients and candidates were happy with the process.

Fingers crossed for Lucy doing just as well (if not better!) next month!

Social media ban for under-16s ‘on the table’ in UK

The UK government is considering a social media ban for under-16s to improve online safety, says Technology Secretary Peter Kyle.

He also plans to ensure the Online Safety Act (OSA) is enforced to hold tech firms accountable for protecting children from harmful content.

The OSA requires companies to verify user ages and prioritize safety, with large fines for non-compliance.

Some platforms, like Instagram and Roblox, have already made changes, but critics say the law must go further.

Parliament is also looking at restricting smartphone use among children.

Health professionals are urging action, and schools are encouraged to enforce smartphone-free policies.
